IUPUI's ePortfolio Initiative advances the use of ePortfolios at all levels campuswide to support and to demonstrate student learning, academic success, and personal, intellectual, professional, and civic development and to help all students make the most of the distinctive opportunities available at IUPUI.
The campus has a history of leadership in the use of high-impact practices for learning (learn more at www.aacu.org), and ePortfolios are increasingly recognized as key enablers of such practices or as a new category of high-impact practice. At the same time, IUPUI is known for excellence in assessment. The promise of ePortfolios to enrich an authentic assessment of student learning continues to warrant support.
To fulfill these goals, the initiative regularly offers professional development workshops and webinars, typically in cooperation with the Center for Teaching and Learning. In addition to small grants and stipends to support faculty or departmental academic staff, we work with University Information Technology Services (UITS) to help assure that ePortfolio technology resources meet the needs of IUPUI faculty, staff, and students. Through occasional brown-bag discussions, communities of practice, an email list, informal consultations, and this website, we serve as an information hub for ePortfolio uses and users. Please browse through our recently completed statement of vision, mission, values, and strategies here for inspiration!
The ePortfolio Initiative is a part of the Institute for Engaged Learning in the Division of Undergraduate Education. For further information or assistance getting started or advancing in your use of ePortfolios, please contact Amy Powell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
